Aoife O’Mahony is a passionate goldsmith based, since 2005, in Skibbereen, in the heart of her native West Cork. Aoife studied at De Vakschool, in Schoonhoven, Holland. Before returning to Skibbereen she worked in Dublin and Glasgow. “Working as a goldsmith is very rewarding. You work with the most fabulous materials and the result is a beautiful piece of jewellery. But seeing how delighted customers are with the result is just brilliant, it makes all the hard work very worthwhile”. A theme through Aoife’s work is simplicity and honesty. She feels the materials; the precious metals and the fabulous stones tell their own story. This makes her jewellery all the more appealing and means that her designs will stand the test of time.
